LET'S FLY
We specialize in Saltwater Fly Fishing Instruction - it is our core strength and a community level discipline that we love to share! We can prepare you in a fun yet constructive environment and then get you on the water safely with a preferred competent Charter Captain.
Private and group fly fishing classes are conducted in realistic conditions, on a casting platform over the water with stationary, moving, and even lighted targets. We are located on Choctawhatchee Bay in the 30A area near Seaside, Florida. Choose a three hour introductory course or specialized instruction. The introductory class provides all the necessary tools and knowledge to prepare you for a successful day on the water. All classes are private instruction, but can include family or friends.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Your time on the water is limited and guided trips can be expensive. Prepare and know what to do before you embark on a guided trip. We can teach you how to fly cast effectively, improve precision and accuracy, and increase your chance of success on the water. We also teach you how to relax, connect, and fully enjoy the art of the cast. Learn how best to present a fly on time, and on target, to turn a trophy fish, and live the memory of a lifetime.
Our classes are three hours long and we offer morning and afternoon sessions (8:30am-11:30am and 1:00pm - 4:00pm). With a strict limit of six people per class, all attendees are required to know each other prior to signing up. This requirement ensures that everyone feels comfortable and at ease with their fellow classmates, creating a more relaxed and enjoyable learning environment. Group classes and Fly Casting Clinics are also available upon request.
INSTRUCTION
We teach the basics for beginners and also help improve casting mechanics and techniques for fly fishers looking for trophy tarpon and other toothy predators. Casting principles and mechanics are derived from decades of experience and those demonstrated by Lefty Kreh, Flip Pallot, Ed Jaworowski, Chico Fernandez, and others who first helped develop fly fishing techniques in saltwater environments. FlyTide30A will improve the mechanics of your cast and cover the details of equipment, flies, knots, boat etiquette, and strategic fishing techniques that are species specific. We teach you everything you need to know before you get out on the water.
